British Air Force Typhoon FGR4s have operated alongside France's air force in a coordinated attack against an underground arms cache in Syria employed by the Daesh militant organization, as stated by the UK's MoD.
The location, identified by reconnaissance, was assessed as storing arms and explosives, the announcement noted, and was positioned in hills just above Palmyra in Syria's central region.
"The RAF jets employed laser-guided Paveway IV weapons to strike a several entry passages down to the depot... early reports indicate the strike was effective," the MoD said.
There was no sign of any civilian casualties in the strike conducted Saturday night and every plane involved returned safely, the defence officials confirmed.
The British jets were assisted by a Voyager refuelling tanker.
Daesh - referred to as the so-called Islamic State - established militant control over significant areas in Iraq and Syria before its territorial defeat in 2019.

UK warplanes have conducted patrols over Syrian airspace to "prevent any attempted comeback" of the group following its defeat at the climactic battle in Baghuz in the year 2019, the authorities noted.
"I want to thank every member of the UK armed forces who took part in this operation for their expertise and their valour," Healey said. "They were among numerous British troops on duty over Christmas and New Year. This action, to remove militants who threaten our security, highlights how our armed forces are always on standby, continuously, keeping Britain secure at home and powerful internationally."
